Play-Doh Sweet Shoppe Frosting Fun Bakery Playset Customer Review

What’s more fun than making delicious-looking Play-Doh treats? Making the pretend frosting to go with them. The Frosting Fun Bakery playset lets you shape a cake with Play-Doh compound. The softer, smoother texture of Play-Doh Plus modeling compound makes it easier to squeeze so you can add beautiful flowers, stars and swirls to your creations. When you finish your pretend cake, set it on its stand so it can look like it belongs in a real bakery. Then smash it up and start all over.

Another fun one from Play-Doh, February 28, 2013

We are huge Play-Doh fans in our house so I'm not surprised that we like this set. We love the options for making decorative details and "frosting"and found that the Play-Doh Plus compound made it look very realistic. As with most Play-Doh sets, it is a bit bulky for storage,

but we don't mind because we like to keep the station set up and ready to use. Little kids and big kids will have fun with this one!

They got it Correct...Good Job!, February 24, 2013

By Wayne Crenwelge "teacher" (Texas) -

This Play-Doh Cupcake Factory is used in a classroom for 3-5 year old kids with special needs. There were 4 colors of play-doh included, and this new dough is much softer and easier for little hands to squeeze - even those with physical limitations.

As I put the factory together, I noticed that once you snapped in both the center section and the left one (as you're looking at the front of the factory) they are "permanent" - they cannot be removed, so storage inside the original box is not an option.

While operating the "plunger" in the center section, you have to clean it out every time as residue from the dough remains inside (unless you want to mix the colors). One of my 5 year olds was able to push the plunger hard enough so that "frosting" dough came out, but all my
other students needed help to do this. We also noticed that the tip came off every time, even when it was screwed on very tightly by one of the teachers.

This new softer dough does stick in the carpet easily, (the old dough you could let dry - just don't step on it - and then easily pick or sweep it up, but to get this new, softer dough out of our industrial carpet at school, I had to use "Goo-Gone", which did get it out of the

carpet with just some moderate scrubbing) so I would advise putting down a plastic cloth if you are working in a carpeted area.

Despite this, my students have enjoyed playing with this - it has sparked some great imaginative play in our kitchen - with students taking "orders" for the kind of cupcake the teacher wanted. I think play-doh is a great tool that can be used in the Early Childhood
classroom for both imaginative play as well as Fine Motor "work".
