Our daughter is nearly 4 years old and she really enjoys playing with the Play Doh Sweet Shoppe Playsets. While she probably prefers the Play Doh Disney Prettiest Princess Playsets the Sweet Shops come in a close second. The Play Doh Sweet Shoppe Ice Cream Cone Container Kit is one of the more basic Sweet Shoppe, but sometimes simplicity is better, since it leads to fewer parts to get lost and less for the parents to clean up.
Notes
- Comes with two small cans of regular Play Doh (White with sprinkles and Bubble Gum Pink) and one small can of brown Play Doh Plus.
- Comes with two ice cream cones
- 1 Normal spoon and 1 spoon to make ice cream cones is included
- All of the accessories can fit inside the ice cream cone shaped container (although you have to pack it carefully)
- One small syringe/extruder included for making icing
- Clean up is relatively painless although getting Play Doh Plus out of anything can be a bit of a challenge.
Final Verdict - The Play Doh Sweet Shoppe Ice Cream Cone Container playset is basic but fun - there are more complex Play Doh Sweet Shoppe toys for making ice cream - but this one is the simplest and when you are dealing with preschoolers sometimes simpler is better!

My daughter received this as a birthday present for her third birthday. It has provided hours of fun for not only her, but also for our 6 and 8 year olds, too. It may be too "babyish" of a present for an 8 year old, but she jumped right in there! I see other more complex kits on the market and haven't tried them, but this simple one has been great. They especially love the waffle roller, but it is tricky for little hands to shape it into a cone once it's rolled because it's floppy.
I let them play with toothpicks with the set, too, which seemed to double the fun as they made "lollipops" and other candies on the little sticks. I also had our other play dough tools out -- there's not quite enough to go around in this set sharing among three kids.
For a really unusual experience/gift, check out "moon dough." We got one of those sets and wow, it's fun and very different.
